Simone Moscatelli (Automobili Lamborghini) presented a paper titled "Using driving simulator and HIL in calibration of a magnetorheological damper controller" and related to the use of the DiM simulator in the complete development chain of a calibration set for magnetorheological dampers. Michael Unterreiner (Porsche) and Fabio Galasso (Addfor) presented a paper titled "Optimizing the system integration process by the use of dynamic driving simulators", related to the use of driving simulation in the testing phase of new versus old control systems, performing track testing with an increased system maturity.

EveningEvent - Seated dinner at Palazzo MadamaDuring the conference, we also had the chance of awarding the “UniNa Corse - Squadra Corse Università di Napoli Federico II” Formula SAE team with the First Prize of the 2017 edition of the Virtual Formula competition. The event, rated “very good” to “excellent” by 96% of the participants, also allowed to discuss about how to prove ADAS/AD technology efficient, safe and comfortable using driving simulators through a very interesting podium discussion featuring Michele Caggiano (FEV), Gunnar Graefe (3D Mapping), Alex Mugnai (Esteco), Werner Reinalter (Magna Steyr Engineering), Carl Sandberg (Volvo Car Corporation) and moderated by Prof. Mike Blundell (Coventry University).

IceBreakerEvent - participants experience the DiM simulator in actionMoreover, on May 9th, all conference participants were invited to join the Ice Breaker event hosted in the brand new Advanced Vehicle Dynamics Center at the Danisi Engineering premises in Nichelino (Turin). The event provided the opportunity to discover the whole range of driving and steering simulation solutions (from vehicle dynamics to NVH, from ride to ADAS) offered by VI-grade, Danisi Engineering and partners.

“Compliments for the fantastic event organization”; “Great scenario, great organization, high quality of interventions”; “Generally improved quality of presentations compared to previous years. Extremely well arranged. Many interesting participants to meet with. Good interaction within the podium discussion”; “Very good event!
