The Vehicle NVH attribute development is often focused during the OEMs prototype phase However, with the aim of reducing costs and prototyping time, it is necessary to anticipate such development as much as possible. For this reason, the virtual digital twin allows the NVH study during the Concept/Design phase.
Lamborghini's NVH group therefore decided to introduce the VI-NVHSim software into the development process in order to reduce time, costs and to be able to test components under a larger number of conditions. The possibility of being able to combine different measurements taken in different proving grounds, sessions, and configurations to build a unique model makes it possible to streamline the process. The final model allows the various contributions of sounds and noises to be separated and activated to evaluate them individually. Furthermore, thanks to co-simulation with other software capable of simulating vehicle dynamics, it is possible to evaluate the performance of each single acoustic contribution during free driving sessions on the virtual track by performing any type of manoeuvre.
The listening sessions performed on the simulator allow development choices to be evaluated and approved without having to build prototypes and go to dedicated tracks.
