VI-grade announces a strategic development partnership with MIRA
Marburg, June 11th, 2013 – VI-grade, the leading provider of best-in-class products and services to bridge the gap between real world testing and technical simulation, today announced the establishment of a strategic development partnership with MIRA, the UK-based leading automotive design, development & certification consultancy. According to this partnership, MIRA will act as a reference site for the automotive software solutions developed and marketed by VI-grade. This partnership is another step forward in line with VI-grade’s mission of bridging the gap between real-world testing and technical simulation, making these two disciplines two complementary contributions to a new vehicle development process based on hybrid simulation.
In detail, the development partnership calls for MIRA to evaluate the software products developed by VI-grade, providing independent development guidance from a Vehicle Dynamics Engineering perspective – rather than just software engineering. Additionally, MIRA will supply digital data of its MIRA Proving Ground circuits to VI-grade to be used in VI-DriveSim, VI-grade’s innovative driving simulation solution installed both on static and dynamic simulators developed by VI-grade and installed at VI-grade SimCenter in Italy.
“We are excited about the consolidation of our long-lasting collaboration with VI-grade” says Dr Geoff Davis, Chief Commercial & Technical Officer. “In particular, we are looking forward to the joint development of a new software tool aimed to automate the creation of a VI-CarRealTime model to complement the SPMM (K&C rig) service currently provided by our organization.”
“We are very happy to report our strategic partnership with MIRA,” says Guido Bairati, Sales Director, VI-grade. “According to the agreement, we will promote MIRA’s services as part of our worldwide sales and marketing activities, through a series of joint customer visits and the participation to selected trade shows and industry exhibitions.”

About VI-CarRealTime
VI-CarRealTime provides a vehicle simulation environment where the same simplified vehicle model can be used by vehicle dynamics and controls engineers to optimize vehicle and control system performance. The product enables engineers to quickly and easily perform large Design of Experiments (DOE) and multi-objective optimization studies. VI-CarRealTime is the only real-time solution available in the market that can automatically and seamlessly export a real-time vehicle model directly from ADAMS/Car™. Similarly, VI-CarRealTime also enables to share component property files such as tires, springs, dampers, and bumpstops with ADAMS/Car™. VI-CarRealTime provides validated models which can be used by controls and hydraulic engineers to optimize the controller design based on accurate vehicle performance. VI-CarRealTime can be integrated with Matlab Simulink for controls systems. For further information please click here.
