Set your targets, perform preliminary analyses and estimate overall vehicle performance
Offline simulations allow engineers to set targets, to perform preliminary analyses and to estimate vehicle performances.
In the early phases of the development process, most of the simulations happen off-line and carry-over data from previous projects are used.
Simulation models are typically created and analyzed using detailed multibody software, with no potential for cross-disciplinarity and subjective feeling.
Moving forward in the development process, off-line simulations are still very important, and they require more detailed models and data.
Data coming from tests and other sources improves the reliability of the multibody models, which can in turn be used to create increasingly reliable real-time models. These real-time models can be then used in the preparation of future driving simulator sessions.
